SDS Mechanical & Automation (A Division of Southern Design Services, Inc.) is currently looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Industrial Electrician to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in an industrial setting. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles, the ability to read & interpret blueprints, and a commitment to safety & quality.

The Senior Industrial Electrician will be responsible for troubleshooting complex electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and regulations.

This position demands excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

The successful candidate will also be expected to mentor junior electricians, provide technical guidance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities

  •  Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in industrial settings.
  •  Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues.
  •  Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment.
  •  Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety regulations.
  •  Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  •  Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior electricians.
  •  Collaborate with other team members and departments.
  •  Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  •  Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems and equipment.
  •  Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  •  Respond to emergency electrical issues promptly.
  •  Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning.
  •  Install and configure electrical control systems.
  •  Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation systems.
  •  Ensure all work is performed to the highest quality standards.

 

 

Desired Requirements

  •  High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
  •  Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
  •  Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial electrical work.
  •  Strong knowledge of electrical codes and regulations.
  •  Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
  •  Experience with PLCs and automation systems.
  •  Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  •  Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  •  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  •  Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  •  Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including lifting and climbing.
  •  Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  •  Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.
  •  Strong organizational and time management skills.
  •  Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
