Apply TodayJob Summary and QualificationsIt is the responsibility of the staff respiratory therapist to demonstrate proficiency in all modalities of Respiratory Care with additional competency in NICU and Pediatric patient care. The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for execution of assignments. All care will be in compliance with hospital and respiratory policies. May work with Respiratory Students in the clinical care setting.What you will do in this role:You will perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure. You will conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.You will administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.You will assist with placement of artificial airways. You will initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.You will monitor patient for therapeutic response. You will notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.You will assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.You will respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.What qualifications you will need:Advanced Cardiac Life SupportCurrent BLS required upon hire Current NRP required upon hirePALS Pediatric Adv Life Support CRT, RRT by NBRC upon hireLicensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care PractitionerGraduated from an accredited school for Respiratory Care, recognized by the NBRCBasic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS InstructorOne year experience in Respiratory Care and with documented training completed in NICU requiredMedical City Frisco is a 90+ bed acute care hospital.
