Our portfolio of national and super-regional brands and licensed products includes Hood, Heluva Good, Lactaid, Blue Diamond Almond Breeze, Planet Oat and more.Job Summary:The SAP Program Director will guide the end-to-end implementation of multiple, concurrent SAP projects, focusing on Warehouse Management (EWM) and Manufacturing (including SAP’s Dairy Module by msg). This role involves managing cross-functional teams, ensuring project deliverables are met within scope, on time, and within budget, aligning the SAP solutions with the company's operational goals, and coaching/developing Hood’s IT project managers. The SAP Program Director will work closely with company leadership, internal functional subject matter experts, technical resources, and appropriate external resources to manage the process of understanding business and technical requirements, defining a solution, and successfully implementing that solution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Program Leadership:
Lead the full lifecycle of SAP implementation projects, from initial planning through to go-live and stabilization at four HP Hood Manufacturing sites. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Oversee the implementation strategy of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring they are executed according to project management best practices in accordance with HP Hood business parameters.
Stakeholder Management:
Act as a point of escalation between the project team, business stakeholders, and external vendors. Facilitate communication between IT, operations, and Mfg. management teams to ensure alignment on project objectives and requirements. Ensure business stakeholders are engaged in the decision-making process and have ownership in the solution.
Project Planning & Execution:
Partner with project team members to develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management. Adhere to data quality and business continuity cutover procedures. Oversee the development and implementation of SAP EWM and Manufacturing modules, ensuring they meet the specific needs of the dairy manufacturing processes. Recommend, evaluate, and manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques as needed.
Team Management:
Lead cross-functional teams, including SAP consultants, developers, business analysts, and third-party vendors. Provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to project team members, ensuring they are motivated and working effectively.
Risk & Issue Management:
Identify potential risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and manage issues to resolution. Ensure quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle, including testing, training, and user acceptance.
Budget Management:
Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints. Provide regular financial updates to senior management and adjust plans as necessary to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Change Management:
Develop and implement change management strategies to support the adoption of SAP solutions by end-users. Monitor progress towards change management milestones, making sure to provide enough time for communication, training, and reinforcement. Ensure adequate training and support is provided to employees to maximize the benefits of the SAP implementation. Create training metrics and monitor attainment to ensure go-live preparedness.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
Recommend, track, and report on project progress, including KPIs, milestones, and deliverables. Prepare and present status reports to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
Other:
Travel as required to gather business requirements and successfully implement projects at company locations. Travel will be sporadic and may include periods of up to 100% travel intermixed with periods of minimal travel. Projects implementations may occur during non-peak business hours, as required.
Education and Experience:
BS/BA in Business, Computer Science or Engineering
10 years of experience in SAP program management, with a focus on Warehouse Management (WM) and Manufacturing modules integrating with Financial/Procurement value chains. Experience in the dairy or food manufacturing industry is highly desirable. Proven track record of successful SAP project delivery within scope, time, and budget. Experience leading large project teams in conjunction with successful partnership with system integrators. Experience with Lean and/or Agile methodologies is strongly preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong business analysis, project management and leadership skills required. Ability to translate vision of work into business requirements documents. Ability to be detailed-oriented while still maintaining a big picture perspective.
Must have a solid understanding of corporate-wide functions, specifically how technology supports business processes.
Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Can do attitude. Self-directed and extremely results-oriented.
Comfortable managing upward, as required. Ability to work hard to effect change in a dynamic, high standards environment while maintaining a positive approach with management, peers, and subordinates. Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Candidate will be expected to communicate to employees at all levels (including company executives) via: face to face meetings, conference calls, written messages and project documentation.
Ideal candidate must have excellent presentation skills and meeting facilitation skills.
Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office skills, to include PowerPoint.
