Canadian National Railway Company (CN) is looking for a highly motivated person to fulfill a full-time (40h/week) Intern, Real Estate position in Homewood, IL from May - August 2025.

Job Summary

The Intern, Real Estate is responsible for providing real estate support services to CN's United States (US) Real Estate, and as directed to CN's Canada (CA) Real Estate, under the direction of the Senior Manager, Real Estate.

Major Responsibilities

  • Research CN property ownership through the Company's Geographic Information System (GIS) and archived files, including maps, deeds, and other documents
  • Prepare contracts for property sales, the industry and CN track agreements, Crossing Agreements, and others as assigned
  • Input data in Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) for the aforementioned contracts
  • Deposit contract monies according to the organization's procedures
  • File contracts and other real estate documents as assigned
  • Address numerous US lease renewals, which include substantial funds due to CN

Requirements

  • Knowledge of and experience in real estate
  • Knowledge of computer systems to navigate through the property module in SAP and process real estate contract documents

Education

  • Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or Economics and real estate experience*

*Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset
