Summary:

This position is responsible for management and support of the professional staff organization (formerly medical staff) for Cook Children’s Medical Center (CCMC) to include required functional committee management and information flow through the approval processes to the Governing Board. . On site resource for professional staff governance documents and information (bylaws rules and regulations, fair hearing plan, Joint Commission standards, etc.)

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but years of experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
  • A minimum of 3 years working in a medical staff office.
  • Proficiency with computers and medical staff database required.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with physicians and hospital staff and to maintain confidentiality of sensitive matters.


Certification/Licensure:
  • Certified Professional Medical Staff Manager (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or qualifications to take examination(s) preferred.
