Schedule : Typically dayshift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with the possibility of after-hours work when required.
Duration : 1+ Year Contract to Hire
  1. W2 No Corp to Corp / C2C
  2. Expected/Potential for extensions and/or conversion to fulltime/permanent)

Additional Information :
  • Overtime may be required, including after-hours work and standby on-call rotation.
  • Candidates must have access to a reliable personal vehicle capable of traveling throughout Virginia, North Carolina, and West Virginia across varied terrains.
Position Overview : This position plays a crucial role in the enhancement and maintenance of network operations as part of a significant telecommunications initiative aimed at improving service reliability and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be instrumental in deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining MPLS Ethernet Networks and Microwave Radios. The role is essential for ensuring optimal performance across various job sites, directly contributing to the organizations mission of delivering high-quality telecommunications services. This position requires a proactive mindset, as the candidate will face challenges that require quick thinking and effective problem-solving skills.

Required Skills/Experience :
  • 2+ years of experience with MPLS Ethernet Networks and Microwave Radios.
  • Strong understanding of DC power systems and grounding.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills in telecommunications systems.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to changing assignments.
  • High School diploma; relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.

Preferred Skills (But Not Required) :
  • Experience with Fusion Fiber Splicing and usage of OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer).
  • Familiarity with spectrum analyzers and power meters for RF testing.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet test sets for Layer 1 and 2 testing and TDM testing of DS1s.

Day to Day/Responsibilities :
  • Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications equipment and systems, focusing on MPLS Ethernet Networks and Microwave Radios.
  • Conduct thorough troubleshooting and diagnostics of network issues, utilizing technical expertise to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate project tasks, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all equipment installations, modifications, and maintenance activities, including circuit prints and troubleshooting reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and industry regulations while performing fieldwork, minimizing risks to personnel and equipment.
  • Provide responsive support to customer inquiries, addressing concerns related to network performance and service reliability.
  • Adapt to the varying requirements of different job sites, demonstrating flexibility in work hours, including potential after-hours or overtime as necessary.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through training and learning opportunities, staying abreast of industry advancements and best practices.
