Head Custodian

POSITION: HEAD CUSTODIAN - 8 Hours/Day - 261 Days/Year

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Performs routine cleaning duties including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, polishing, vacuuming dusting, stripping, shampooing, and removing refuse, replenishing building lavatory and miscellaneous supplies.

Performs miscellaneous lifting, moving, loading and unloading tasks, miscellaneous outside grounds work including mowing, raking, snow removal, and clean-up.

Performs routine maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, painting, furniture repairing, plumbing, electrical and mechanical repairs, operation and maintenance of boiler equipment, roof patching and maintaining cleaning equipment.

Responsibility at various times for student workers and night activities by outside groups. Responsibility as assigned for security of district facilities and equipment. Responsibility for assignment and supervision of cleaners and custodians. Responsibility for school building cleaning and maintenance activities as well as maintaining an inventory of supplies and materials.

Responsibility for completion of work-time records and various information reports as required.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Oversee large events, i.e.: Graduation.

Oversee & maintain pool facility and athletic fields.

Must be available for holidays, evenings, and overtime at a moment's notice.

REQUIREMENTS
High School Graduate or equivalency preferred.

Ability to read and write English.

Ability to understand simple directions and assignment, mechanical aptitude, working knowledge and experience in building maintenance and cleaning work preferred, good physical condition.
