Provides assistance to gift shop supervisor in areas of gift shop operations such as buying, merchandising, inventory control and customer service. Coordinates ordering for WVU Medicine personnel uniform needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. A high school diploma or equivalent
2. Valid Driver's License
EXPERIENCE:
1. 6 Months of experience in a retail setting, involving merchandising and inventory.

EXPERIENCE:
1. One year of retail experience, including buying, merchandising and inventory.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. They are not intended to be constructed as an all-inclusive list of all responsibilities and duties. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Provides customer service in the Gift Shop including operation of the POS system.
2. Coordinates and purchases uniforms, including special embroidery orders of employee uniforms and related items.
3. Receives shipments, transports to stockroom and assures merchandise is checked in and priced in a timely manner to provide ample time to claim, process and document damages.
4. Assures merchandise is presented in best possible manner through attractive visual merchandising, rotating and assuring freshness and cleanliness of displays.
5. Helps to ensure appropriate inventory levels and merchandising.
6. Works with Gift Shop Supervisor to plan clearance sales as needed to maintain proper inventory levels.
7. Prepares and processes on-line orders from Gift Shop website.
8. Maintains accurate records of credits, claims and returns assuring proper adjustments on invoices.
9. Assists with annual physical inventory of merchandise to assure a thorough and accurate report.
10. Assists supervisor in planning special events such as seasonal sales and open house events.
11.
Assists with gift shop buying as directed by supervisor.
12. Assists with the training of new Gift Shop Staff and Volunteers.
13. Responds to customer complaints or requests in a timely manner.
14. Secures return authorization when necessary, prepares merchandise and forms for return to guarantee proper documentation.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Experience with QuickBooks POS, Excel, Microsoft Office and E-commerce processing.
2. Possess a strong desire to provide excellent customer service in a retail environment.
