Staff Accountant

As a Staff Accountant, you will assist in the day-to-day accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions. You will be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and supporting senior accounting staff with various accounting functions.
*This is a hybrid-office position and regular attendance in the office is required in Concord, CA. Remote applicants will NOT be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Transaction Processing:
- Record daily transactions into the accounting system (e.g., journal entries, ad hoc payments).
- Assist with payroll processing and maintain accurate payroll records.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain and update financial records and documents.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of accounting records.
- Assist in maintaining the general ledger.
- Support the preparation of month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Prepare and assist with financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and other financial summaries.
- Generate reports for management and internal use as requested.
- Adhere to accounting policies and procedures.
- Support internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audit preparations.
- Provide necessary documentation and information for audit reviews.
- Perform general administrative duties related to accounting, such as data entry, filing, and office organization.
- Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and tasks as needed.
- Previous accounting experience or internships are a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Workday and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new accounting systems and processes.
Pay Range for the position is $33.65 to $38.46 per hour.
