PSV has an exciting employment opportunity for an experienced Respiratory Therapist. This role is working in our Fairfax, VA location. This role is working Full-Time Day Shift, Monday - Friday, 40hrs/week.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Assessment:
    • patient respiratory status (includes CO2 and O2 monitoring)
    • Interpret signs and symptoms and response to interventions for respiratory illnesses.
    • Contribute to plan of care based on assessments.
    • Administer aerosolized medications and treatments as ordered.
  • Education
    • Provide instruction to patients and families (respiratory treatments, airway clearance, medication delivery, equipment devices)
  • Administrative responsibilities
    • Contact equipment manufacturers for technical assistance, as needed.
    • Document assessments, treatments, teaching encounters, in EPIC.
    • Evaluate and document ventilator/non-invasive patient encounters done during visit.
    • Follow protocols to ensure correct information/documentation with each patient encounter
  • Cystic Fibrosis: 0.5 FTE will be part of CF program. This includes all responsibilities listed above for patients seen as part of the INOVA/PSV Cystic Fibrosis (CF) program
  • Patient populations include, but are not limited to, Cystic Fibrosis, Asthma, Ventilator and non-invasive ventilator populations.
Minimum Qualifications Required
  • A.S. Completion of a minimum two year of college training in an AMA approved Respiratory Care Program required.
  • 1 year Experience in PFT lab or diagnostic service setting.
  • 2 years' Experience in respiratory care.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist RCP VA license
  • Current BLS and PALS/ACLS for Healthcare Provider Certification
  • Requires a working knowledge of state and federal regulations and requirement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Possesses self-initiative, creativity, and motivation.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot conflicts.
  • Ability to work with the management team.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
