Here's how a(n) Learning & Development Specialist for our US Head Office office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Applies adult learning methodologies while delivering instructor-led courses, mainly in behavioral and leadership subject areas, in both in-person and virtual formats. ( Note: this position requires travel throughout the US and occasionally Canada. A valid passport is required .)

  • Leads development of standards and evaluates courses or programs and implements revisions to improve quality.

  • Assesses the needs of the participants and modifies instructional strategies.

  • Manages the preparation of course materials, including pre- and post-course work.

  • Provides company-widesupportand consultation services on all matters related to learning and development initiatives at PCL.

  • Facilitatesstrategicplanning and partnering sessions.

  • Collaborates with team members and subject matter experts todesignand develop entry-level to intermediate behavioral programs.

  • Acts as project lead for assigned initiatives and programs and applies the principles of project and time management to track tasks/deadlines for self and a team.

  • Uses rapid authoring tools to develop e-learning tosupportinstructor-led courses or programs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred.

  • 7 years of progressive experience with training delivery and/or facilitation in acorporateenvironment preferred.

  • 3 yearsdesigningand implementing new courses or programs preferred.

  • Understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design approaches and methodologies.

  • Ability to deliver instructor-led courses to a diverse group of participants with varying knowledge, experience, and backgrounds.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and present ideas and content that influence a favorable outcome.

  • Ability to act as a change agent by applying change-management methodology.

  • Results oriented withprovenproject management experience.

  • Ability to develop and form relationships and gain the confidence of learners.

  • Ability to assess the needs of the organization, prioritize and propose programs and initiatives thatsupportemployee learning and development.

  • Experience leading execution of learning and development programs and initiatives.

The salary range for this position is between $79,000 and $107,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.

We anticipate this requisition will be open for a minimum of five days, though it may be open for a longer period of time. We encourage your prompt application.
