Job Title: Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Platform Development: Build and deploy robust, scalable data platforms to support enterprise needs and data-driven strategies.
  • Automation and Optimization: Create automated processes for infrastructure management and ensure system scalability to handle growth.
  • System Monitoring: Oversee system and application performance, addressing issues promptly to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
  • Technical Problem-Solving: Analyze technical challenges, design solutions, and test new tools or technologies to address business needs.
  • Software Development: Develop, test, and refine software solutions to enhance the efficiency of data systems and applications.
  • Documentation and Collaboration: Maintain thorough documentation and provide technical expertise to support IT initiatives and cross-team collaboration.
  • Agile Participation: Actively engage in agile processes, including standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, while tracking team deliverables.
  • Production Support: Rotate as part of the team's production support roster, addressing issues and deploying updates seamlessly.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with QA teams during testing and partner with data operations teams for production deployments.
Must-Have Qualifications:
  • CI/CD Tools: 3-5 years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and associated tools.
  • Version Control Expertise: 3-5 years working with Git/GitHub for version control.
  • Azure DevOps (ADO): Proficiency in leveraging ADO for project management and delivery.
  • API Development: Strong experience in API design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Python Programming: Proficiency in Python for software and platform development.
Preferred Skills:
  • Kafka: Familiarity with Apache Kafka for building real-time data pipelines.
  • Automated Testing: Experience in designing and implementing automated testing processes.
  • Behavior-Driven Development (BDD): Knowledge of BDD frameworks and tools.
  • JSON: Expertise in working with JSON for data exchange and system integration.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL, ETL processes, and working within UNIX/Linux environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and orchestration tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A track record of meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects effectively.
