Our client, a leader in the food & beverage industry, is looking to hire a Microbiology Technician. This role is fully onsite in Glenview, IL.

*This job is a 6-month W2 contract with benefits*

As a Microbiology Technician, you will support the Fermentation & Biotechnology Team develop platform initiatives for our client's food & beverage products. You will also assist with different ingredient technology development work streams, working to progress internal research initiatives and collaborate with external research programs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with research scientists to prepare upcoming experiments, microbiological media, and other items necessary to complete experiments
  • Assist with experiment planning, setup, and teardown of scientific equipment, including bioreactors
  • Run and maintain analytical instrumentation to analyze experimental outputs, creating detailed records and reports of collected data
  • Conduct bench top and pilot plant trials to explore and optimize formulations and product development processes.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology
  • 1+ years of experience in a Microbiology lab environment
  • Prior experience in the food & beverage or pharmaceutical industry a plus
