Industrial Cleaner

Job Title: Industrial Cleaner Job Description The Industrial Cleaner is responsible for general cleaning and upkeep, including painting of all equipment and production areas. Additionally, the cleaner will perform tasks as assigned by the Production Manager. Responsibilities Operate forklift Collect all trash hoppers in and around the facility twice a day and dispose of trash properly Run floor cleaner as needed Mop, sweep, and clean floors, walls, and equipment Inspect the exterior grounds weekly for litter, appearance, hazards, and notify appropriate personnel if necessary Paint as needed (walkways, railings, floors, 7S items, etc.) Monitor and empty dust collectors Replace receptacles for recycling when full and stage full receptacles in the appropriate area Maintain oil/materials catch cans Stock shelves at mixer stations (gloves, dust masks, tape, etc.) Clean returnable drum plates as needed Essential Skills 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing cleaning 1-2 years of experience in sanitation 1-2 years of experience in general labor Forklift operation experience Experience in chemical handling, blending, loading, sanitizing, and janitorial duties Additional Skills & Qualifications Must be comfortable working in a facility with strong odors Must be able to pass an audiogram test High School diploma or GED equivalent Prior industrial cleaning or housekeeping experience (nice to have) Prior mixing and batching experience (nice to have) Forklift experience (optional) Experience in chemical manufacturing (nice to have) Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is a chemical plant with 98% automotive material production. It is a climate-controlled environment with exposure to moving equipment, noise, fumes, vibrations, and dust. You will be required to stand on your feet for 8-10 hour shifts, frequently walk, climb ladders and stairs, and move on and off a forklift throughout the entire shift. Safety PPE including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, respirators, gloves, and earbuds will be provided. Shifts are available as follows: 1st shift from 7:00am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday; 2nd shift from 3:00pm – 11:30pm, Monday – Friday; and 3rd shift from 11:00pm – 7:30am, Sunday – Thursday. Weekend work and overtime may be required based on business needs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Evansville, Indiana.
