About the role

As a Property Insurance Claims Specialist for one of the nation's largest and most diversified owners and managers of residential real estate, your main responsibilities will include processing and tracking property insurance claims, verifying insurance coverage, collecting relevant supporting documentation for the processing of insurance claims, and reviewing general insurance-related matters

What you'll be doing

  • Studying documentation and assembling additional information from relevant sources including site teams and adjustors
  • Completing and recording forms, reports, logs, and records
  • Working with the Director of Insurance and Legal Dept to approve any insurance adjustor settlements
  • Studying provisions of a policy or certificate
  • Collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
  • Following company policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as state and federal insurance regulations
  • Following customer service practices and responding to customer inquiries
  • Assembling documentation for settlement action

Who we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in business or accounting
  • 3 years of experience
  • Knowledge of insurance-related policies
  • Proficient in analytical math
  • Excellent conflict resolution
  • Strong written communication
  • Self-Insured Retention experience a plus
  • Subrogation experience a plus
  • Must have an active and valid driver's license
