Position Overview Processing Technicians operate an advanced dairy processing system through both automated and manual controls. The Processing Technician is responsible for unloading of milk / cream tankers, pasteurizing, and operating a wide variety of in-process equipment. The Processing Department uses methods in blending, heat treatment, and in-process controls to produce high quality products for our customers. Principal Duties Assure regulatory compliance, process controls and safety standards are met. Perform daily verification checks at the critical control point of temperature (Cut-In, Cut-Out and Indicator Checks). Operate and troubleshoot a wide variety of in-process equipment. Perform testing on incoming ingredients and WIP (work in progress). Unload milk and cream tankers. Pasteurize and process milk and milk products. Perform and record production and quality controls. Clean in place and sanitize equipment. Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), housekeeping and safe work practices. Perform preventative maintenance on process equipment i.e. valve rebuild. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum requirement of a High School diploma or G.E.D. 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment in the food and beverage industry preferred. Must be able to understand and follow all GMP and Safety requirements. Strong mechanical ability, troubleshooting skills and detail-oriented. Strong analytical and applied problem-solving skills. Must be able to multitask while working with a team. Job requires frequent walking, bending, lifting, and twisting. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Experience in a dairy production environment and/or processing operation preferred. Pay Rate Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications. Entry level positions from $20/hr.
