Inova Lorton Ambulatory Surgery Center is currently hiring a Full-Time experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to become integral members of our team, delivering unparalleled care to our patients. The ideal candidates will possess expertise in one or more of the following specialties: Gastrointestinal/Endoscopy (GI), Plastics, and Podiatry. Our center boasts (2) OR Suites, (1) GI Procedure Room, and a total of (15) PreOp/PACU Bays. Join us in shaping the future of healthcare.

The Inova Ambulatory Surgery Center at Lorton stands as a comprehensive outpatient facility dedicated to delivering exceptional care. Situated conveniently near the intersection of Lorton Road, I-95, and Route 1, within the Inova Lorton HealthPlex, our surgery center holds licensing from the state of Virginia, certification from Medicare, and accreditation from AAAHC.

We specialize in providing cost-effective outpatient services, leveraging cutting-edge technology, all within a warm, compassionate environment. Our highly skilled and empathetic staff proudly serve Alexandria, the Route 1 corridor, and surrounding communities, ensuring every patient receives the utmost care and attention.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Monday-Friday (5x8s or 4x10s)
  • Day shift only, no nights, weekends, call, or holidays


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Scrub/Circulate surgical procedures
  • Providing communication between team members in the surgical field and persons outside the operating room
  • Maintaining sterile environment during the surgical procedure
  • Conducting and documenting sponge/sharps and instrument counts as required during the surgical procedure
  • Completing intra-operative documentation of the procedure
  • Acting as the patient's advocate during patient's stay in the operating room
  • Assisting with room turnover, including disposal of trash and linen, cleaning of OR table and floor, assembly and opening of sterile supplies
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • One year operating room nursing experience is required
  • Two or more years of scrub and circulating experience is highly desired
  • RN Graduate from an accredited nursing institution, BSN preferred
  • Current RN license in the state of Virginia
  • BLS Certification required
