We are seeking an experienced and skilled Data Engineer to join our team, working closely with Healthcare Analytics staff to develop system-based solutions that support clinical, financial, and operational processes. This is a remote, 3-month opportunity working west coast hours. The Data Engineer will be responsible for creating and supporting ETL processes, data marts, databases, and reports, with a focus on healthcare data. This role requires a deep understanding of data warehouse architecture, as well as experience designing and developing data structures that support reporting and analytics. The ideal candidate will be adept at collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, with a focus on building robust data pipelines and ensuring data accuracy and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to support healthcare analytics initiatives.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and ensure data is available and reliable for analysis.
  • Data Integration: Implement and optimize data integration solutions for various healthcare data sources, maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Performance Optimization: Tune and optimize existing data infrastructure to improve performance and scalability.
  • Compliance: Ensure all data processes comply with healthcare privacy and security regulations.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve data-related issues to maintain data integrity.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain thorough documentation of data engineering processes and workflows.
  • Innovation: Explore and implement emerging technologies to enhance data engineering capabilities.
Key Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of data engineering experience, particularly with healthcare data.
  • Proficiency in SQL and SSIS for ETL processes (SQL expertise is essential, especially in Microsoft T-SQL).
  • Epic or EHR experience is a nice-to-have, especially for those familiar with healthcare data standards like HL7 and FHIR.
  • Experience with SQL and specific data handling tasks: Strong expertise in handling specific types of SQL tasks, as technical depth in this area is critical.
  • Proficiency with data warehousing and data modeling, with familiarity in Python or Java.
  • Experience with data integration and visualization tools such as Talend, Power BI, and SSRS.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
