GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Assistant maintains employee personnel files, coordinates new hire orientations, completes terminations, assists in all employee events, tracks employee reviews, and assists the Human Resources Director with various administrative needs and projects as needed.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
- Enters and maintains employee data through the Human Resource Information System (HRIS). Inputs status, rate changes and other payroll related changes into HRIS. As needed, uses the HRIS to generate a variety of useful employee data reports.
- Maintains / Audit employee personnel files, work permits and HR confidential binders.
- Coordinates New Hire Orientations that foster a positive first impression of the company.
- Also, works with rest of human resources team in coordinating activities which include summer picnic, holiday party and recognition programs.
- Conducts pre-screening activities including reviewing applications, telephone screening and in-person screening. Confers with hiring managers regarding candidates. At times, may also perform reference checks for hiring managers.
- Conducts pre employment onboarding needs: provides information to employee regarding onboarding paperwork, drug screen / live scan/ physical/ TB etc..
- Researches and responds to employee questions relating to HR policies and procedures.
- Assists the human resources team with various administrative needs and projects as needed. Projects could include recruiting, employee activities, training, and employment referrals.
- Coordinates the details associated with GSR / RV Wellness programs.
- Tracking of Performance Management process including 90 day and annual reviews for assigned entities
- Conducts Employee Terminations
- Supports HR Generalist to answer questions and issues related to company provided benefits, including (but not limited to) medical, dental, vision, voluntary benefits and 401k.
- Work with internal management to identify staffing needs
- 1-2 years human resources experience preferred
- Experience in heavy phones, multitasking duties, and general office duties
- Computer proficient using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must display a friendly, courteous and helpful attitude toward the Residents, other employees, and the public.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and able to perform simple mathematics
- HR certificate a plus
