Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods is seeking to hire an Inventory and Receiving Specialist at our Bakery located at 2020 Westmoreland St. The position requires weekend work as assigned. This is a 3rd shift position reporting 8pm - 4:30am. Position Summary: Inventory and Receiving associates play a key role at Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods in ensuring the warehouse can run smoothly. In this role, associates are responsible for shipping, receiving, organizing, and distributing products throughout the plant. Other functions may include but are not limited to using the forklift and pallet jacket to move and store products and assemble pallets while maintaining a safe and hazard-free environment. Essential Duties: Maintain positive communications with the 430 Logistics Transportation Departments Maintain positive relationships with departments and delivery drivers. Maintain high sanitation standards and follow a daily cleaning schedule. Operate forklift and pallet jack or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods. Meet departure time of transportation, facilitating products throughout the kitchen and Bakery to appropriate departments. Ensure raw materials (including packaging materials) are staged and available to the production area and meet food safety and quality standards. Apply internal lot codes to all incoming food and packaging cases. Assist in ensuring that the SQF system is in place and that we follow all aspects of HACCP plan, SSOPs, and GMPs throughout the plant. Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as; manifests, invoices, or orders and verify accuracy. Manage and ensure the accuracy of documents. Operate machinery when necessary. Perform physical activities that require considerable lifting, bending, and handling of materials. Report all food safety issues to an immediate supervisor. Education/Experience: High School education or equivalent Forklift/ pallet jack experience is preferred. 2-3 years of previous Inventory/Receiving experience is preferred. Knowledge of safe storing and handling procedures of various foods and chemicals The ability to arrange things in a certain pattern. Ability to effectively communicate with supervisor and coworkers; and follow safety and chemical guidelines. Ability to work flexible schedules as needed for production and/or holidays.
