Summary
The primary responsibility of the Account Supervisor is to develop strong integrated campaign strategies for their clients, as well as manage the consistent execution of these strategies throughout the campaign lifecycle. Responsible for balancing campaign quality and budgets, the AS works closely with all departments to ensure that programs are executed on-time, on-budget and on-quality.
The AS communicates regularly with their clients about high-level topics, including campaign strategy and budget conversations (e.g. change orders or out of scope requests). This role maintains a working knowledge of their clients' industry/segment, as well as a specific knowledge of their client's consumer profiles and competitors enabling them to create effective marketing strategies. The AS can clearly articulate their own agency's service offerings and capabilities, allowing them to sell agency services into their accounts through quarterly strategic recommendations (up-selling and cross-selling).
The tertiary responsibility of the AS is to perform day-to-day coaching and oversight of their direct reports aligned with the associates' growth and development plans, as well as co-leading 1:1s and the annual EDP process for direct reports with an Account Director or Group Account Director.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates a pervasive knowledge of core agency service offerings/capabilities
- Maintains deep understanding of how internal estimates map back to SOWs/contracts
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of program/campaign architecture and estimate structures
- Maintains working knowledge of their clients' industry/segment
- Maintains specific knowledge of clients and their consumer profiles
- Maintains specific knowledge of clients' competitors
- Ensures creative assets are received prior to campaign initiation
- Ensures campaign strategy is in alignment with MW products + services
- Ensures client approval of Campaign Brief prior to campaign kickoff
- Demonstrates working knowledge of client data structures including CRM
- Track campaign performance, gathering data to analyze results and determine campaign impact.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and case studies to present campaign outcomes to clients.
- Use analytics insights to provide recommendations for optimizing future campaigns.
- Share best practices and industry benchmarks with clients to educate and inform strategic decisions.
- Manages out of scope requests at project level
- Manages campaign budgets
- Serves as primary business owner for both client and internal account teams for all elements relative to their campaigns
- Cultivates relationships with clients at mid-level management (e.g. Product/Marketing Manager)
- Develops ongoing strategic recommendations that solve business objectives for clients, above and beyond contracted campaigns
- Ensures successful execution of their clients' campaigns
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with non-profit clients, understanding their mission, goals, and challenges.
- Communicate project status, updates, and any issues to clients in a timely, clear, and professional manner.
- Conduct regular client meetings, both virtual and in-person, to discuss progress, KPIs, and campaign effectiveness.
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Collaborates with Creative team to ensure that creative execution remains on strategy and provides strong brand stewardship
- Effectively presents, sells and defends integrated agency campaign work to clients
- Manages campaign profitability
- Manages Proforma within best practice process
- Manages budget reallocations within Proforma
- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the dynamics and workings of their client's programs + organization
- Maintains professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values
- 10-15% travel requirements to clients
- 7+ years of Account Management experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing or equivalent experience
- Marketing agency experience
- Non-profit fundraising experience
- Thorough knowledge of agency capabilities/offerings
- Skilled in developing client proposals and SOWs
- Skilled in developing program/campaign goals and benchmarking
- Skilled in successfully managing clients through programs with multiple complex projects
- Skilled in program/campaign and project financial management and analysis
- Skilled in developing complex programs/campaigns with demonstrable ROI
- Skilled in leadership of integrated strategy throughout programs/campaigns/projects
- Experience developing integrated marketing plans + budgets aligned with client's business objectives
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic leadership to solve client business objectives
- Experience providing strong brand stewardship for clients throughout programs/campaigns
- Experience in growing client relationships
