Mechanical Engineer

Major Duties:
- Leverage 3D CAD systems to engineer material handling systems in compliance with customer specification(s).
- Review and create as-built drawings
- Participate in firm engineering meetings with the customers and suppliers; may lead technical discussion during these meetings
- Produce detailed mechanical installation drawings
- Create detailed Bills of Material for purchasing equipment
- Create point load drawings when required
- Verify calculations, such as horsepower and throughput
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure custom equipment is provided per design specifications
- Collaborate with vendors to review equipment drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with customer requirements
- Produce and/or compile installation details, including supplier installation drawings and manuals, for the field
- Travel to job sites to verify field conditions
- Report project status to the Project Engineer as required maintaining the project schedule
- Design parts or platforms required for material handling system
- Provide other required engineering tasks as necessary
- You have a BS in a technical discipline (ME, EE, other engineering/CAD)
- You have 4-6 years of experience with projects in the parcel space
- You have experience on parcel projects
- You're proficient in 3D CAD Systems (Inventor, SolidWorks, PTC CREO), AutoCAD & and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- You have a solid knowledge of the advanced functionality of 3D CAD Systems
- You're flexible and able to transition between several projects
- You possess excellent written communication skills
- You understand that the details make the big picture work, and like working in the details
- You're more excited about the success of your team than your own personal success
- You're passionate in continuous improvement, being a key contributor to the development of the Engineering Process
- Detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations.

- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
- Ability to respond to visual and aural cues.

- Professional and deadline-oriented environment in an office setting.
- Interaction with team members and clients in both remote and on-site locations.
- Occasional in and out-of-state travel with some overnight stays as needed.
- Periodic weekend or evening work is expected.
