Position: Chief Estimator - Building Demolition and Asbestos Remediation

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Estimator to join our team and oversee the estimation process for building demolition and asbestos remediation projects. This key position will play a crucial role in accurately assessing project costs, developing competitive bids, and ensuring the profitability and success of our projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Estimation Management: Lead the estimation process from project initiation to completion, collaborating with business development, project managers, engineers, developers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and develop accurate cost estimates.
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct comprehensive cost analyses, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs, to determine project budgets and ensure competitive pricing.
  • Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed and competitive bids and proposals in response to client requests, ensuring compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and company standards.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with projects, such as site conditions, environmental factors, and regulatory compliance, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Evaluate and select vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability, and negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure favorable terms.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape to inform pricing strategies. Work in collaboration with business development to identify bid opportunities.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand their needs, address concerns, and secure repeat business. • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the estimation team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in estimating, project management, or related roles within the construction industry, with specific experience in building demolition and asbestos remediation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, safety regulations, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing estimation projects, delivering accurate cost estimates, and winning competitive bids.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to effectively assess risks and develop solutions.
  • Advanced proficiency in various estimating software.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • Leadership experience, including the ability to mentor and develop team members, detail oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, and foster a positive and productive work environment.
