Sign-On Bonus: $3,000

The RN Educator will play a crucial role in meeting educational needs, overseeing staff development, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards within our organization. We are looking for a talented individual who can bring creativity and dedication to this important position. The RN Educator will report directly to the Director of Nursing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engaging staff development programs focusing on safety, infection control, hazardous materials, and more to meet regulatory standards set by NYSDOH.
  • Support continuous improvement in educational practices through coaching, counseling, and effective performance appraisal.
  • Keep abreast of advancements in nursing education by attending workshops, reviewing literature, and participating in professional networks.
  • Accurately document educational activities, attendance, and participant feedback.
  • Regularly report on educational initiatives, project outcomes, and participant progress.
  • Engage in monthly QAPI meetings and contribute to relevant projects.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Quality and/or Director of Nursing to implement training programs that ensure staff competence.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and assist in data collection for assessment and performance evaluation.
  • Foster strong communication with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimize educational outcomes.
  • Maintain contact with employees on disability or workers' compensation to facilitate their return to work.
  • Review incident and OSHA reports to coordinate education and loss prevention initiatives.
  • Administer required health screenings and vaccinations following established protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the operational objectives of the nursing facility.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Nurse Educator in Long Term Care.
  • Valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • Experience in long-term care settings is essential.
  • Demonstrated capability in creative education and mentorship.
  • CPR certification is required; CPR trainer certification preferred or willingness to obtain it.
  • Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices is a plus.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively engage and educate diverse groups.
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Comprehensive understanding of emergency preparedness, safety protocols, and OSHA regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of infection control practices.
  • Ability to manage required documentation and compliance records.
