The VP, Ambulatory Operations is responsible for executing the strategic direction and operational priorities across the Jefferson Medical Group (JMG)assigned region. Develops new initiatives and helps set a vision for Ambulatory Services with specific focus on organizational and divisional priorities that account for both short and the long-term performance and growth. Works with JMG, Service Line, inpatient and physician leadership to identify and execute strategic objectives; sets goals in conjunction with organizational leadership to ensure financial success, patient satisfaction and sustained operational success. Partners closely with the Service Line leaders to implement strategic initiatives and design operational models to achieve organizational objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

  • Generates strategic initiatives and drives execution, continually improving performance with focus on clinical programs that align with JMG and Service Line strategy

  • Develops and implements a collaborative vision of ambulatory services throughout the division and sets communication standards across all departments and sites of service

  • Provides direction and guidance including local market insight to inform service line strategy

  • Leads the execution and implementation planning process within the division to achieve organizational and service line strategy; inclusive of facilities plans, design of staffing program and service offerings, information connectivity, revenue cycle and payor contracting

  • Identifies and executes initiatives that accelerate the integration and standardization of best practices into Jefferson Medical Group

  • Establishes annual and multi-year goals that align with organizational operating and strategic plans

  • Maintains high standards of quality and service excellence in the ambulatory setting; responsible for achieving organizational targets and implementing best practices to realize high-levels of patient, provider and staff satisfaction

  • Works closely with service line, operational, strategy, and finance leadership in the research, development, and financial modeling of new business opportunities; including market research, identification of office space, and illustrating efficiencies and cross department inter-dependencies

  • Guides practices with the development of a staffing structure that ensures operational efficiencies and the highest levels of patient, physician, and employee satisfaction

  • Reviews operating procedures established by each practice and recommend changes to improve workflow efficiencies and alignment with JMG best practice

  • Provides leadership, plans, markets, monitors and reports on practice operations. Assists with budget preparation, data collection and reports for each practice

  • Accountable for development and execution of practice improvement plans in accordance with operational reviews

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson

Competencies:

  • In depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance, and accreditation standards

  • Ability to lead a team of healthcare professionals with a proven commitment to patient satisfaction

Education:

Bachelorrsquo;s degree required, preferably in Business Administration or a related field. Masterrsquo;s degree in business administration, with a concentration in Management or Health Care preferred.

Experience:

  • Seven or more years of related leadership experience in multi-site physician practice management and/or management services organizations, preferably in an academic setting.

  • Experience with Department of Health, Joint Commission, and other governmental surveys/audits preferred
