As a Principal Integration Architect at Cerence, you'll lead the integration of our cutting-edge AI solutions into automotive ecosystems. Your expertise in system integration and software architecture will drive the design and implementation of seamless integrations, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure scalability and robustness

  • Develop integration strategies for cloud and embedded microservices, considering Android, Android Automotive, and Linux platforms.
  • Lead a small team of developers in the design and integration of audio-based software components into infotainment systems of vehicles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless connectivity and user experience.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the software development team.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies and frameworks to meet project goals.
  • Ensure system scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in software architecture and development processes.
Who you are:
  • Proven experience in designing complex software systems, with a focus on integrating audio software into automotive infotainment systems.
  • Proficiency in C/C++, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Python for implementing and integrating software components.
  • Strong familiarity with Android, Android Automotive, and Linux, and experience in developing for these platforms.
  • Extensive experience in designing integration strategies for cloud and embedded microservices, using technologies like gRPC and OAuth 2.0.
  • Understanding of automotive systems, infotainment, and telematics.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills to address complex technical challenges.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to lead and mentor development teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Bonus points for:
  • Experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, or Automotive Ethernet.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with using source control tools like Perforce, Mercurial, Git.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in automotive software development.
  • Experience with software testing and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Previous work on open-source projects related to automotive or infotainment systems.
