Company Overview

The Company is a leading manufacturer of on-line inspection systems for leak and fill-level on metal, glass, and flexible containers. Systems employ various technologies to perform quality assurance testing on high-speed food, beverage, dairy, chemical, personal care, and pharmaceutical production lines.

Position Summary and Responsibilities

The Company is seeking an Applications Engineer to join its Sales & Marketing team in support of the in-line inspection systems. This position will involve providing application and technical support for existing and new product introductions for the internal, external, and agent sales & service, as well direct to end use customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides technical sales and marketing support for applications dealing with complex knowledge of product line functionality, performance, and compatibility
  • Conducts sample testing on products sent in by customers for inspection evaluation in support of sales opportunities and generates test result reports for return to customers verifying inspection capability
  • Supports sales orders by defining system configurations based on customer requirements and application
  • Supports field sales personnel in technical sales presentations and documentation
  • Provides technical support to sales and marketing in defining and coordinating requirements for engineering specials
  • Support field service technicians, external OEM and Rep, Technicians, as well as customers performing self-service on their equipment
  • Identifies and tests new applications for existing products
  • Assists sales in replacement part requirements as required
  • Responds to customer service requests and provides troubleshooting and phone support as needed. Travel to customer sites when required for escalated equipment application issues. (less than 25% travel expected)
  • Develop product training programs and provide customer, sales, and service training on existing and new products
  • Support the engineering staff in reviewing ECO's, engineering specials, and writing manuals
  • Support in house repair efforts when needed
  • Conducts Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) as required
  • Provide support for tradeshows and customer demo's as required
  • Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a "US Person" (US Citizens, US Nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees or refugees)
  • Candidate must have or be capable of obtaining a Passport
Qualifications

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required:
  • Technical or BS Engineering Degree
  • Experience with lab-based testing equipment
  • Experience with PC based platforms
  • Experience with industrial equipment
Preferred:
  • Previous engineering experience
  • Mechanical/Chemical/Electrical Engineering Degree
  • Knowledge of the packaging, food filling, and sample testing of container integrity, preferred.
