Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic credit reporting team at SoFi, an aspiring top 10 bank that wants to help members get their money right. In this critical role, you will be at the forefront of analyzing and interpreting data to support our credit reporting and dispute resolution processes. You will also be the core driver of designing and implementing data solutions and pipelines that automate data accuracy, integrity and compliance across multiple platforms and products. You will be a part of an energetic and entrepreneurial team that values innovation, integrity, and inclusivity.

What you’ll do:

  • Use open source technologies to mine data for insights; develop data pipelines supporting both internal and external data sources
  • Build data solutions that are fully automated, provide end users the ability to self-service
  • Partner with the business and operations teams to understand goals and develop tools to meet those needs which can include insights, business intelligence, key metrics and performance indicators
  • Drive an understanding and adherence to data management principles centered around thorough metadata documentation, data lineage, data quality standards
  • Cross functional collaboration with business, operations, legal, compliance, and technology teams

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, or related quantitative field.
  • 5+ years of experience doing quantitative analysis at a technology company, consulting, investment banking, or product management including experience with SQL, Python, R, or Spark 
  • 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry; specifically in the consumer lending and banking space
  • 3+ years of experience in data governance and management
  • 3+ years of experience in process improvement principles such as Agile, Six Sigma, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience initiating and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance
  • 3+ years of experience communicating and representing results of analysis to senior leadership
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud-based platforms, such as AWS, Snowflake
  • 3+ years of experience with building data visualizations with Tableau, Looker or other BI tools
  • 3+ years of experience building data pipelines including demonstrated experience automating manual data processes
