This opportunity is at our Michelin Retread plant located in Covington GA. Covington is only 30 minutes from Atlanta and is known as the Hollywood of the South. It has a great downtown area that is family friendly with many dining and shopping options. Michelin has been part of the Covington community for over 20 years. In our facility, we build treads for our customers that retread truck and heavy-duty truck tires.

MISSION:

The Reliability and Energy Engineer ensures that the maintenance and energy strategies are relevant to the performance objectives of the facility and are applied. He/she improves the effectiveness and the efficiency of the tech teams by establishing reliability methods and implementing the energy/water/CO2 practices.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Maintain a roadmap and strategic improvement plan for energy, CO2, and water performance, which is aligned with the Group's objectives and ambitions. Ensure that it is updated annually, and the status is routinely presented to the site management team.
  • Lead the various business units of the site to improve water and energy consumption.
  • Animate progress involving cross-functional teams of all employees (operators, maintenance, quality technicians, and managers) through steering groups, application of Michelin Manufacturing Way, and awareness campaigns.
  • Lead and participate in energy diagnostics, evaluating efficiency of the production, distribution, and use of fluids to identify opportunities to drive progress on energy consumption and costs both at the site and in support of other sites in the timezone.
  • Contribute to the establishment of consumption standards within each business unit.
  • Ensure the energy and environmental indicators are analyzed and reliable.
  • Reduces unplanned breakdowns and eliminates defects by leading small improvement projects and implementing precision maintenance standards including shaft alignment, wear tolerances, lubrication practices, bolt torque procedures and other guidelines stated in Installation, Operation and Maintenance Manuals
  • Communicate the site energy performance within and beyond the site.
  • Increases the reliability of the equipment and reduces the reactivity to failures by leading the preventive and predictive maintenance programs to include vibration analysis, oil analysis, infrared thermography, motor circuit analysis and ultrasonic examination
  • Assist in predictive tools (oil analysis, infrared, vibration analysis, ultrasonic)
  • Collaborate with the business units, buyers, and energy partners to optimize energy and water-related contracts (supply, transformation, maintenance, water treatment, etc.).


WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact in a professional manner with external partners, suppliers, customers, and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • B.S. degree or equivalent experience in an Engineering field with a least 2 years of experience
  • CRL or CMRP certifications is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Preventative Maintenance Methods/Approach
  • Must be self-motivated with a high degree of integrity and be able to perform job duties with minimal direction on a timely basis
  • Must have experience with root cause analysis, and preventative and predictive maintenance
  • Experience working with the following is a plus: Hot/thermal oil heater, water treatment, compressed air, lubrication standard methodologies, vibration monitoring, infrared and ultrasonic inspection
  • Previous experience in running projects (Project Management)
  • Demonstrated understanding of heat transfer, separation unit operations and mass/energy balances.
  • Attention to detail, data accuracy, and strong skills to analyze and draw conclusions from datasets.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to become proficient in internal software systems.
