Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled EDI Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing, managing, and maintaining electronic data interchange (EDI) systems to ensure seamless communication and data flow between our organization and trading partners. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
EDI Implementation and Maintenance:
Configure and implement EDI systems and transactions to meet business and partner requirements.
Monitor and troubleshoot EDI data transmission issues to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Partner Onboarding:
Collaborate with trading partners to establish EDI connections and formats.
Coordinate and test EDI transactions to ensure compliance with partner specifications.
System Administration:
Maintain and update EDI mappings, specifications, and standards.
Ensure system compliance with industry standards such as ANSI X12, EDIFACT, or other relevant protocols.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze EDI data to identify trends, errors, or opportunities for optimization.
Generate reports on EDI performance metrics for internal stakeholders.
Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with IT, operations, and supply chain teams to align EDI processes with business goals.
Provide support and training to internal teams on EDI systems and processes.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
1+ years of experience with EDI systems and technologies.
Hands-on experience with EDI mapping, testing, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with EDI software such as Gentran, Sterling Integrator, or similar platforms.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in EDI standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT, etc.) and file formats (XML, JSON, CSV).
Knowledge of communication protocols like AS2, FTP, SFTP, and VANs.
Basic understanding of databases and query languages (SQL preferred).
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the supply chain, logistics, or retail industries.
Knowledge of ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
Familiarity with APIs for data integration.
