Title: Interconnection Project Engineer (PJM)

Location: Houston, TX (100% of telework permitted from anywhere in the US)

Employer: AES Clean Energy Services, LLC

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Connect the various AES Clean Energy power stations to transmission systems and electric grids across the United States. Provide strategic analysis of the interconnection procedures, queue and transmission system in a given RTO/ISO to formulate and steer greenfield project siting. Support greenfield development: review transmission system analysis, identify interconnection agencies and procedures, prepare and file interconnection requests including supporting internal and external parties on the preparation of technical materials, provide viability feedback to stakeholders to support any financial and project approvals needed.

Support the review and analysis of utility study reports; tracking and reporting results throughout process; support negotiation and execution of interconnection agreements and engineering and procurement agreements.

20% domestic travel required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Job requires Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in any occupation involving renewable or traditional energy development.

The position requires three (3) years of experience in:

- Reviewing and running power flow models in PSS/E or PSLF;

-System Impact Studies (SIS) and other interconnection studies of renewable energy generating facilities with: PJM, Dominion, First Energy, AEP Ohio, PSEG, and Duke;

-Electrical diagrams, preliminary site plans, and preparation of interconnection request packages for submittal;

-Transmission systems, transmission planning and expansion plans in the US;

-Open Access Transmission Tariffs and Generator Interconnection Procedures;

-Utility generation development.
