Occupational Therapist Full-time

Are you passionate about helping older adults regain their independence and improve their quality of life? Join our dedicated team as an Occupational Therapist, where you will provide essential outpatient rehabilitation services in the comfort of patients' homes. In this role, you will assess and treat clients in various settings, including private residences and independent living facilities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel in line with state licensure requirements.
  • Adhere to department and patient treatment schedules, ensuring timely documentation and participation in work-related meetings.
  • Participate actively in patient care discussions and staffing conferences, contributing valuable insights.
  • Make referrals to other disciplines or agencies to effectively address the comprehensive needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with the rehabilitation team, including community physicians, to develop personalized therapeutic regimens.
  • Adapt therapy programs based on individual patient needs and progress.
  • Maintain a safe environment by identifying and eliminating fire and safety hazards.
  • Order necessary supplies and rehabilitative equipment.
  • Keep all equipment clean, well-maintained, and report repairs as needed.
  • Prioritize patient service, ensuring a caring and compassionate atmosphere that honors each individual's unique needs and rights.
  • Screen, examine, and evaluate patients to determine diagnoses, identify impairments, and design appropriate care plans.
  • Implement treatments that include therapeutic techniques to improve cognitive skills, muscle strength, coordination, mobility, activities of daily living, and more.
  • Fabricate and apply adaptive devices, training patients in their use.
  • Motivate and instruct patients in functional activities, monitoring their progress closely.
  • Conduct routine reexaminations to adjust treatment plans as required.
  • Perform other related duties that may arise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an accredited occupational therapy curriculum.
  • Initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
  • A valid, unencumbered occupational therapy license in the state of practice.
  • A valid driver's license or reliable transportation to visit patients.
