Contract Designer - Plymouth, MN - Hybrid Make your mark at the world's largest HVAC company Daikin Applied is seeking a Contract Designer III who will use computer-based tools to design parts and assemblies, create production drawings, and manage BOMs and product configurators. Designer III's will also originate, develop, or modify product designs from conception to finished manufacturing documentation assuring quality, manufacturability, functionality, serviceability, and cost has been considered. Location: Hybrid, Plymouth, MN What you will do: Create engineering documentation including Solidworks, modeling, fabrication and purchase drawings that conform to Daikin standards Translate engineering/marketing intent into manufacturing working 3D layouts, detailed documentation and Bill of Materials and configurators Work with VAVE/Product Engineers and Production Engineers to provide 3D models and documentation for original designs or custom modifications of current products Exhibit a sense of design and mechanical aptitude with abstract thinking and reasoning skills. Demonstrate creative ability, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness through incorporation into design and configurator work Provide accurate estimates of tasks on projects and execute to your estimate. Work with project management to consume and communicate additional work estimates as needed Gain knowledge of design and manufacturing practices, processes, and Daikin products.
