Dermatology Support Technician

This position is REMOTE but candidates must be within commuting distance and able to travel onsite on occasion.
The Position
The Dermatology support technician works collaboratively with the entire Dermatology Team including assigned veterinarians, other staff veterinarians, the Dermatology department, and the entire Angell support staff to provide Angell clientele with excellent clinical and customer service. This position supports the off-floor office duties normally assigned to our specialty technician role including providing support for outpatient and inpatient care, assisting with case management of animals admitted to the hospital, and communications with clients and sometimes referring veterinarians.
The technician must be able to interact with all staff members and clients in a positive and dynamic manner and provide technical advice following hospital policies and procedures. It requires knowledge of their specific veterinary specialties clinical tests, procedures, protocols, medical terminology, animal handling and math skills. The Dermatology support technician should be able to communicate, orally and in writing, veterinary specific clinical information regarding services to our clients and other hospital staff.
Some duties to include:
- Assist veterinarian with complete history and vital pre-appointment referral paperwork
- Checks veterinarians appointments daily and helps the team remain on schedule
- Obtain medical records from referral records from RDVM and scan the records into Signature prior to each appointment
- Provide exceptional client service based on the individual needs of each client and patient
- Communicate basic purpose of various laboratory and diagnostic tests for client communications

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
We are looking for applicants with at least one year of experience working as a veterinary technician/assistant. Must be a CVT, certified veterinary technician, in order to qualify for this role. As this position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, we require applicants to include a cover letter showcasing your writing skills.
$5000 Sign on Bonus for CVTs
