Canopius is seeking an enthusiastic professional ideally with some working knowledge of the insurance industry. The individual will proactively support the Claims Operations function, working with a wide and diverse range of colleagues and stakeholders across the Group – including Finance, underwriting, and our claims colleagues across our four key Product lines and, three Business units.

Responsibilities will include:

  • To support the US claims team in the implementation of the claims strategy and to work collaboratively with other members of the claims team.
  • Manage triage for the US claims operation. The successful candidate will need to identify policy and claim types and ensure workloads are balanced across the team.
  • Manage claim loss run files ensuring records are updated accurately and timely.
  • Assist in claim payment financial reconciliation.
  • Effective oversight of service providers or outsource partners who provide services to the claims function, flagging any issues of concern.
  • Reviewing and updating all claims SOP (standard operating procedures), specifically to ensure our processes are clearly documented.
  • Establishing a network of internal and external key contacts and proactively developing these relationships in line with our claims vision.
  • Supporting the Claims Operations team in proactively managing and addressing any ad hoc queries or requirements from either internal or external stakeholders.
  • Working with the Head of Claims Operations and our offshore partners in delivering our DCA performance MI metrics to our claims colleagues.
Essential skills and experience:

Candidates should have experience in the insurance industry, ideally in claims or, in an operational capacity.
