About the Role:
The IT Specialist is responsible for the effective operation of IT services and support across the organization. The IT Specialist serves as a technical expert for the development, implementation, management, and support of systems and networks. The IT specialist plans and carries out exciting, complex assignments and develops new methods and approaches in a wide variety of IT specialties. They evaluate new and enhanced approaches to deliver IT services; test and optimize the functionality of systems, networks, and data; and define technical requirements. The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for providing various forms of computer-related technical assistance and improving the efficiency of the work of the staff
through the use of technology.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist users with account setup, password resets and basic system configurations
- Provide first-level technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues
- Assist in the installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software components
- Perform routine checks and updates on systems to ensure optimal performance
- Identify and resolve technical issues promptly, escalating problems when necessary
- Collaborate with senior IT team members to troubleshoot complex problems and find effective solutions
- Create and maintain documentation for IT procedures, configurations and issue resolutions
- Assist in updating and expanding the IT knowledge base
- Work closely with team members on IT projects, providing support and contributing to project success
- Participate in training sessions to enhance technical skills and stay current with industry trends
- Assis in implementing and maintaining security measures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches
- Follow security best practices and contribute to a secure IT environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Basic understanding of IT concepts and principles
- Familiarity with hardware components and peripherals
- Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux)
- Exposure to troubleshooting common software applications
- Good communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
- A desire to help others
- Must currently be eligible to work in the United States of America
- High School diploma or GED
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field
- Experience with Mobile Device Management
- Experience with Active Directory
- Experience with Networking (DHCP, DNS,etc.)
- Experience with Windows Server operation system
- Experience with Microsoft 365 account administration
- Work is performed outdoors with exposure to weather including and not limited to excessive heat, excessive cold, and extreme weather conditions
- Requires walking and standing continuously throughout the day
- Requires driving locally in varied weather conditions
- Must be able to lift, carry, push up to 40+ pounds on a regular basis
- Requires working under stressful conditions to meet deadlines and company needs

Job Type: Full-time, Hourly Non-Exempt
Travel: Limited or no travel required
Location: Tyler, Texas
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00, extended hours as needed
