The Catalog Development Specialist is responsible for the creation, organization, and maintenance of comprehensive product and service catalogs. This role ensures that all catalogs adhere to established project standards and image specifications, facilitating the seamless transition of items from setup to availability in the catalog. The specialist will also handle the processing of new product data, document the physical characteristics of supply items, and create compelling product descriptions, titles, and keywords. Collaboration with various departments is essential to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the catalog. Additionally, the role involves uploading and editing product images and videos for the spec book.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Catalog Creation and Organization:
  • Develop and maintain detailed catalogs of products and services.
  • Ensure all catalogs meet project standards and adhere to image specifications.
  • Product Data Processing:
    • Assist with the processing and integration of new product data into the catalog system.
    • Validate and verify product information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other departments to ensure a seamless transition from item setup to catalog availability.
    • Coordinate with sales, marketing, and engineering teams to gather and verify product information.
  • Documentation and Classification:
    • Document the physical characteristics of supply items for cataloging and classification purposes.
    • Maintain accurate records of product specifications and attributes.
  • Content Creation:
    • Research and write engaging product descriptions, titles, and keywords that optimize searchability and user engagement.
    • Ensure all product information is clear, concise, and informative.
  • Media Management:
    • Upload and edit product images and videos for inclusion in the catalog and spec book.
    • Ensure all media files adhere to quality standards and specifications.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Regularly review and update catalog content to ensure it remains current and accurate.
    • Identify and correct any discrepancies or errors in the catalog.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in catalog management, product data processing, or a similar role.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in data management software and cataloging tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong research skills and the ability to write clear, engaging product descriptions.
  • Experience with image and video editing software is a plus.
