Job Title: Director, Tax

Summary/Objective

The Director, Tax will be responsible for all the Company's US taxes including property tax, stamp duties, transactional (indirect) taxes as well as country, state, and local income tax accounting and compliance for all entities. S/He will also coordinate with the Company's international tax professionals to ensure that all international taxes all related filing, accounting, and compliance matters are administered accurately. S/Hey will develop strong working relationships with the Corporate Accounting, Treasury and FP&A departments and encourage and facilitate strong working relationships between those departments and other members of the Corporate tax team. The ideal candidate should have strong and broad tax accounting and compliance experience along with a high level of knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.

Essential Functions
  • Analyze complex transactions to determine planning opportunities and ultimate tax consequences; oversee execution of compliance process end-to-end.
  • Diligent preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated worldwide income tax provision workpapers under US GAAP ASC 740 and IFRS IAS 12. Ensure all income tax related general ledger accounts are properly recorded and reconciled.
  • Oversee accurate and timely filing of corporate income tax returns for all applicable tax jurisdictions within the US, Europe, and Asia. This includes in-house review of all book-tax differences, quarterly estimate filings, and annual extension and tax return filing.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with the Company's external tax partners, ensuring that all applicable engagement and work in support of the Company's tax function is completed accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with changing tax laws and provide input on changes that could affect the Company's tax posture. Manage and execute on tax strategies to minimize cash taxes and lower the effective tax rate.
  • Oversee all facets of the company Sales & Use Tax compliance, Gross Receipts Tax, and Property Taxes including: Sales Tax software, compiling, analyzing, and reviewing detailed documentation, managing compliance vendor relationships and global audit responses.
  • Maintain a cradle-to-grave tax ownership approach to corporate transactions that encompass all aspects of a deal including negotiation, due diligence, structure, document review, financing, closing, post-closing reorganization and business integration.
  • Compliance with all aspects of internal and external SOX audits including documentation, implementation of effective internal controls and developing self-testing procedures.
  • Assess the impact of earnings forecasts, mergers and acquisitions, and applicable tax laws on the firm's structure and potential for dividends or shareholder payments.
  • Utilize reporting information to create feedback loop of accountability and decision-making
  • Prepare business financial presentations for senior leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Competencies
  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Skilled in managing relationships with outside tax advisors, financial statement auditors and consultants on an ongoing basis.
  • ERP/Financial systems experience (SAP and bpc a plus).
  • Able to adapt to fast-paced, changing environment and technology.
  • Capability to work for extended periods to meet key deadlines on unique projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization; devotion to accuracy and data integrity.
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Accounting, Tax or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years overall professional experience. 5+ years of relevant corporate tax experience.
  • Direct involvement in M&A activities, technical memos, and tax planning objectives.
  • Experience working with all levels of US and international outsourced compliance, international quarterly and annual tax provisions.
  • Experience working with multinational entities and the related transfer pricing or other international tax requirements.
  • Experience with foreign currencies, IFRS standards, and international business operations.
