These studies will focus on asset management, safety and process improvement projects for execution during shutdowns / turnarounds. The role will support and report through the Projects and Engineering team located at the Daybreak offices in South Jordan, UT. This role is a great opportunity to be involved in the planning and delivery of projects from initiation to completion, and focused on achieving objectives through managing resources, budgets, changes, and risks. Projects may be capital or expense projects, functional or cross-functional projects or related to broad business improvement initiatives. You will be: * Working with stakeholders to develop scopes of work for engineering studies for future smelter shutdowns * Leading, planning and coordinating the study or implementation stages of projects, including the management of all functional areas * Responsible for resourcing, contract management, progress reporting and people management * Accountable for safely and successfully delivering the project and business case by ensuring the results meet technical, quality, cost and schedule requirements as per the lifecycle stages * Planning relevant safety requirements into all activities, tasks and projects based on assessed hazards, identified critical risks and mitigating actions * Ensuring proper project governance and stage gate approvals * Applying technical/professional knowledge to solve complex problems and recommend solutions and contributing to process improvements What you'll bring To succeed in this role, you will have: * College degree in metallurgical, mechanical, processing or electrical engineering, or other relevant related technical field * 5 to 10 years of progressively responsible experience in project management experience in heavy industry * Experience with computer system applications, including Word, Excel, MS Project * Strong written and verbal communication skill It will also be beneficial if you have: * Experience with shutdown / turnaround project execution * Project management certification or advanced project management training. * Broad understanding of program and project management, project controls, business improvement, contract management, risk management and change management * Knowledge of Project based software tools and systems What we offer We are committed to providing our employees with a generous benefits package.
