Responsibilities:

The prospective candidate will provide direct advisory and assistance support (A&AS) as a Avionics Engineer (Computer Systems and Software Airworthiness) to U.S. Air Force customers in a U.S. Air Force Program Office. The customer Program Office provides planning and acquisition of cost-effective, long-term critical U.S. Air Force capabilities in an Integrated Product Team structure. The candidate will work side by side with customers and other A&AS contractors in the Program Office. Working with the customer, the candidate will also interface with major defense contractors who supply critical defense capabilities. The majority of the work will be performed in the customer work space. Some travel is expected.

• Be familiar with the DoD acquisitions process.
• Support development and review of the full range of documention and products required by DoDI 5000.02
• Assist with execution of the USAF Airworthiness process per MIL-HDBK-516 and the AF Life-Cycle Systems Engineering (LCSE) and Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) processes prescribed by AFMCI 63-1201.
• Support implementation of Air Force Integrity Programs.
• Support requirements development, allocation, and verification.
• Support review and evaluation of weapon system design, analyses, and verification documentation and reports.
• Support requirements development, allocation, and verification.
• Gather and develop technical and business data necessary to build and, as required, present program briefs.
• Support program meetings, working groups, and technical and business reviews as needed.
• Analyze equipment and software performance deficiencies and make recommendations for corrective actions.
• Support development of contract and documentation changes and updates.
• Support source selections in a technical advisory role as requested.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant DoD experience.
• TS Clearance required, SCI Eligible
• An ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Two (2) of these years must be in a special access DoD acquisition program as a sub-system lead engineer within a recognized ACAT I program office and must have accrued within the four years prior to selection for employment under this contract.
• Five (5) years of relevant DoD Avionics experience.

• One (1) year of relevant avionics experience years must be within a recognized ACAT I (or equivalent) Special Access Program.

Knowledge and experience in:
• Designing, developing, integrating and testing Computer Systems & Software, to ensure adequate performance, safety, integrity, and airworthiness.
• Assessing hardware, software, and systems are qualified to meet airworthiness criteria, especially criteria in MIL-HBK-516, section 15.
