Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Specialty: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Job Duration: 12 Weeks

Shift: 19:00-07:00

Guaranteed Hours: 36 Weekly

Experience: Minimum 1 year in NICU/special care/pediatrics

License: Pennsylvania RN License

Certifications: NRP, PALS

Must-Have:
- Experience with CPAP, HHF, IVs/pumps, feeding pumps, NG tubes

Job Description:

- Provide specialized nursing care to neonatal and pediatric patients in a Level 3 Regional Intensive Care Nursery.
- Work as part of the largest healthcare provider in west central Pennsylvania, with access to tertiary care as a regional referral center.
- Participate in weekly orientation sessions on Mondays for continual growth and acclimatization.
- Deliver care to neonatal patients experiencing common conditions such as preterm birth, respiratory distress, sepsis, hyperbilirubinemia, NAS, pneumonia, RSV, failure to thrive, and hypothermia.
- Maintain patient care standards through the use of equipment including CPAP, HHF, IVs/pumps, and feeding pumps.
- Utilize EPIC as the Electronic Health Record system to document and manage patient information.
- Exhibit strong critical thinking skills and the ability to make independent decisions in a high-stakes environment.
- Engage in a supportive team environment, adapting to float between pediatrics and NICU as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Pennsylvania state requirements for clearances, including Child Abuse History Clearance, Department of Human Services Fingerprinting, FBI Department of Aging Fingerprinting, and PA State Police Clearance.
- Adhere to the dress code with any color scrubs for NICU; scrubs are provided for pediatrics.
