Job Description

Performs complex activities of a higher-technical level in the delivery of radiographic services. May be responsible for the supervision of assigned radiographic and ancillary personnel. In addition to performing duties of Assignment Level I at a higher level, also performs the following:
Examples of Typical Tasks:
1. Performs procedures on patients whose conditions require specialized expertise.
2. Assists Radiologists, other physicians and allied health care professionals in performing diagnostic or treatment procedures.
3. Performs diagnostic testing on equipment and general maintenance.
4. Monitors patient and equipment condition during procedure and reports changes to appropriate health care professional.
5. Assists and guides radiographers in the performance of a wide variety of x-ray procedures.
6. Trains and assists radiographers in a wide variety of x-ray procedures.
7. Plans, schedules and coordinates the day-to-day activities of the area to ensure continuous flow of work.
8. Supervises radiographers and ancillary personnel assigned to the area.
9. Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment to ensure operational viability of the area.

Minimum Qualifications

Assignment Level II
1. Valid license and current registration to practice Diagnostic Radiography as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the NYSDOH.
