Job Description

MAJOR FUNCTION:

The Ambulatory Clinical Operations Director has the overall responsibility to plan, organize and direct the administrative, financial, and clinical operations, of the ambulatory division. To include, but not limited to, IMG practices, Urgent Cares, and Ambulatory Surgery Center. The position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Operations. The Ambulatory Clinical Ops Director is expected to work in close collaboration with peers, practice providers, surgeons, and leadership at all levels, to achieve strategic and operational goals related to optimization of patient care (i.e., improved access, increased efficiency and improved fiscal responsibility). This position will oversee an ambulatory management team as well as require cross collaboration across several divisions/departments to ensure initiatives and goals are successful from a global perspective.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

• BA or BS is required.

• MBA or MS in a Healthcare field is preferred.

• Appropriate experience may be substituted for educational requirements.

• 5-7 years of health care leadership or management experience, preferably in position(s) that span across multiple physical locations.

• Experience developing, implementing and tracking Quality Metrics/Key Performance Indicators to benchmarks, as well as performance improvement planning and implementation.

• Experience developing, projecting and managing to Operational and Capital Budgets.

• Strategic planning experience including ability to develop plan for opening and/or consolidation of various sites while simultaneously growing volume and practice efficiencies.

Certification/Licensure:

• Registered Professional Nurse (New Jersey State Board of Nursing License).

• Clinical certification preferred but not required.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Great interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills.

• Successful track record in leadership and staff management and development.

• Strong understanding of the theories, principles, policies and processes of ambulatory scope, to include revenue cycle management and third-party reimbursement knowledge.

• Knowledge of regulatory, privacy practices and law, as applicable to scope.

• Demonstrated success in working with physicians and clinical affiliates.

• Strong, demonstrated interest and competency in operational and process improvement work.

• Proven track record of successful change management skills, through use of engagement, empowerment and motivation of direct reports and team members.

• Strong analytic, problem solving and critical thinking skills.

• Possess the ability to think clearly and use sound judgment for decision making in relation to business office, marketing, and managed care related policy.

• Interacts with patients, visitors, third party payors and overall team professionally and effectively, including ability to provide service recovery.

• Possess a knowledge of necessary equipment, systems and procedures.

• Competent with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
