Job Description
Job Title: Occupational Therapist (OT)
Job Specialty: Rehabilitation
Job Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Experience: Primarily inpatient with some outpatient acute care and pediatric experience required
License: Michigan LARA
Certifications: BLS - AHA
Must-Have: Cannot accept candidates living within 50 miles of the facility; supervisory reference forms; skills checklist pertinent to the specialty; experience with EPIC in the last year is a plus
Job Description:
- Evaluate patients' functions by conducting formal and informal testing to assess skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, and cognitive functions.
- Develop a goal-specific treatment regime based on assessment data and patient tolerance to carry out the treatment plan.
- Submit a written treatment plan to be coordinated with the physician and update the plan of care as needed.
- Cosign verbal orders received by occupational therapist assistants when necessary.
- Devise a frequency and duration-specific treatment schedule to discuss with patients, families, or caregivers and coordinate with clinical staff.
- Educate patients, families, and/or caregivers regarding their condition, alternatives, prognosis, and rationale for treatment.
- Provide supervision for Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students in accordance with affiliate and regulatory standards.
- Weekend rotation is required.
- Lymphedema experience is preferred.
