Position Requirements

  • Valid Tennessee EMT certification
  • BLS certification at time of employment
  • ACLS and PALS certifications within six months of employment
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within six months of employment
  • Minimum of one year emergency pre-hospital experience preferred

Physical Environment

  • Duties performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Potentially high-risk environment with exposure to various medical, trauma, and behavioral emergencies
  • Operations and work functions within emergency vehicles, including ambulances

Physical Effort

  • Ability to provide patient movement and carry patients and equipment over varying distances and terrain
  • Must be able to walk, crawl, stand, sit, climb, stoop, run, and kneel to access patients
