NP Inpatient Oncology, Hematologic Malignancies

Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), located in Boston, MA currently has an opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our ground breaking Inpatient Oncology team, caring for patients with hematologic malignancies.

Here, an emphasis is placed on teamwork and sustainable work-life balance. You will benefit from a team of APPs collaborating every single day, and a dedication to minimizing burnout with full-time APPs working 3 days per week, self-scheduling managed by the team, strictly voluntary overtime, and equitable sharing of off-shifts which is also supported by a nocturnist program. Patient to provider ratios are also optimized to ensure the best patient outcomes and provider experience

Care for patients with hematologic malignancies, and those undergoing cellular therapy and bone marrow transplants.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the care of patients on a 32-bed unit in collaboration with world-class RNs and oncologists. Responsibilities include participating in daily inter-disciplinary rounds, collaboratively develop and implement care plans, coordinating tests and consultations, communicating with referring clinicians and consults, performing patient education, and preparing patients for discharge.

  • Lunder 10 is a 32-bed oncology unit, located on the inpatient hospital (Main) campus.
  • Providers are responsible for coverage 24/7, including weekends and holidays.
  • Shifts are 13hrs. Day/Night Rotation. Day hours: 6:30am-7:30pm, Night Hours: 6:30pm-7:30am. Night requirements are minimal, and team is supported by a nocturnist program.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of prior experience in an acute care/inpatient environment (either as RN or APP), with medicine, ICU or oncology experience highly desirable.
  • Master's degree in nursing, national certification in advanced practice nursing OR master's degree in physician associate studies, with certification by NCCPA
