Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse

Job Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Night (7 PM - 7 AM)

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience; must have CVICU experience

License: Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of residency, or meet the licensure requirements for National License Compact (NLC) states if applicable.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Must-Have: Ability to wear navy blue scrubs

Job Description:

- Collect and assess data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or situation.
- Analyze assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues.
- Identify expected outcomes for an individualized plan tailored to the healthcare consumer or situation.
- Develop a plan prescribing strategies to achieve expected, measurable outcomes.
- Implement the identified plan, coordinate care delivery, and use strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
- Delegate elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers per legal or policy parameters.
- Evaluate progress toward the attainment of goals and outcomes.
- Practice in a manner that is congruent with principles of cultural diversity and inclusion.
- Communicate effectively in all areas of practice.
- Collaborate with healthcare consumers and other key stakeholders in nursing practices.
- Demonstrate leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession.
- Seek knowledge and competencies that reflect current nursing practices and promote futuristic thinking.
- Integrate evidence and research findings into practice.
- Contribute to quality nursing practices.
- Evaluate one's own and others' nursing practices in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations.
- Utilize appropriate resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based nursing services that are safe, effective, and fiscally responsible.
- Practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
- Practice ethically.
- Promote shared governance or facility decision-making activities, developing and nurturing research to positively affect clinical outcomes and promotion.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to walk, stand, sit, lift, reach, stoop, bend, push, and pull.
- Capability to lift and support the weight of up to 35 pounds for handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Must have an intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, and touch, and possess finger dexterity.
- Critical thinking and ability to concentrate, with a requirement to respond quickly to changes in patient or unit conditions.

Please note that requests for time off (RTO) are not approved for Halloween, and you can have only one holiday off for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, or New Year's Eve. Valentine's Day is included (02/14/2025).
