HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
The Associate Marketing Manager will play a critical role in developing, execute, and report on annual sports-specific marketing planning and execution to acquire new customers to the business; specifically focused on top growth opportunity sports. This role will contribute to the strategic marketing plan development by understanding the customer's needs to drive customer engagement, lead generation and conversion, and create tools that make it easier for Sale's Pro's to sell BSN SPORTS to these growth-opportunity sports.

- Develop Marketing Plans: Build direct-to-customer marketing plans to grow the business and acquire new customers for top growth opportunity and emerging sports; including Basketball, Baseball/Softball, Volleyball, Track & Field, Cross Country, Wrestling and new customer segments. Embrace a deep understanding of the target customers' needs and challenges.
- Lead strategic planning and oversight of sport specific marketing campaigns, serving as a key facilitator of integrated planning processes, collaboration and alignment across the marketing team and cross functional partners
- Develop 12-month marketing calendar for each sport considering appropriate marketing channels, relevant products, inventory, pricing, order deadlines, seasonality, and customer messaging to acquire new customers and grow the business.
- Own all workstreams across multiple cross-functional partners (Category Management, Merchandising, Digital, Innovation) needed to get the marketing campaigns to market including: customer segmentation and positioning, initiative prioritization, digital, creative, finance, legal and merchandising teams.
- Develop positioning and customer facing messaging for each sports campaign to be consistent, relevant to the customer, and ownable to BSN SPORTS
- Manage campaigns from end-to-end: manage creative development process, targeting and segmentation, planning, execution, reporting and optimization
- Develop clear, insightful communication briefs and lead creative team through creative development and execution
- Execute & Report Marketing Campaigns: Analyze wins and losses throughout the year in terms of marketing campaigns, sales promotions, and exclusive offerings with each sport and audience segment
- Own reporting of key content and marketing metrics to optimize campaigns for future
- Help guide management decisions to optimize the use of our resources and explore new areas of growth in the sport
- Customer & Market Research: Become well versed in the assigned sport categories, understanding the customers needs, challenges and the product category to build marketing recommendations.
- Leverage consumer insights, market and business data, and trends to translate into actionable consumer driven marketing plans and communications
- Collaborate with merchandising and sales team to identify what products and brands we need to develop robust go-to-market plans to drive growth
- Identify ways to improve the customer experience and innovate with your sports
- Drive customer engagement through communication strategy and messaging
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Strategic planning - this role involves strong strategic direction to develop and successfully implement marketing and promotional campaigns
- Presentation skills - present ideas and reports to business leaders and partners
- Creative - demonstrated ability to gather consumer insights through quantitative and qualitative research and translate into creative marketing communications, initiatives or solutions
- Analytical - knowledge of conducting A/B testing and assessing customer engagement and measuring marketing program success
- Project Management - effectively manage workflows and deliverables for marketing campaigns, so a background in project management is essential
- Cross-functional management - as evidenced by the ability to work with support functions such as Sales, Marketing, Creative, Merchandising and Finance
- Strong problem-solving capabilities - as evidenced by a track record of finding feasible solutions to complex problems, especially in an environment with incomplete information and tight timelines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - develop marketing and branding language and copy, and communicate between teams
- 4+ years in a result-oriented marketing, product management, product/consumer marketing or sales marketing role
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or equivalent work experience
- Proven success with cross functional teams, project coordination and relentless execution & follow up
This job operates in a professional office environment. Largely a sedentary role with some filing requiring the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. The ability to sit or stand for long periods through meetings and while operating office equipment, PC's, laptop, telephone will be required.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; drive, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
