A senior-level engineer and leader responsible for organizing and researching proposed product baselines, including product changes, releases, and obsolescence. In this role, you will serve as the Product Change Leader for a specific product line. Your primary responsibility will be to champion the implementation of product changes across the enterprise, overseeing the entire process from the initial change proposal to execution.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the global product baseline and the product change process in a designated business unit to ensure product baseline and changes are managed and implemented successfully within the product lines.
  • You will collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to comprehend the product baselines and change control requirements for the assigned products and projects. A key focus will be identifying components and assemblies to ensure the successful implementation of product changes at the operational level and within the existing and new customer-installed base.
  • Lead and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to develop an effective product change management process that improves the efficiency of the product change cycle, enhances manufacturing execution, and reduces inventory impact.
  • Offer product support to manufacturing, supply chain, product management, account management, and other functional team regarding product baselines and modifications.
  • Possess a deep understanding of product change processes and various related business process practices, Including familiarity with enterprise systems like Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
  • Oversees primary planning functions to ensure an effective change implementation date and facilitates smooth transitions for change activities at various operations sites.
  • Experience in engineering documentation and adherence to engineering standards is essential.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the BOM (Bill of Materials) management platforms utilized across the enterprise.
  • Manage the Digital Mockup (DMU) and the iteration modeling instances.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum Ten (10) years of complex product configuration and system engineering space.
  • Strong Exposure to Configuration Management CMII practice (CMII certified preferred).
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and CPIM practices.
  • Experience with PLM systems, i.e., Teamcenter platform.
  • Experience with ERP systems, SAP S4 Hana, and MRP platform.
  • Experience using a 3D CAD package (CREO) environment.
  • Experience with Design for Six Sigma
  • Deep understanding of ASME Y14.5 GD&T practices (minimum 10 years)
Additional Skills Required:
  • Intermediate working knowledge of complex mechanical/electrical model systems.
  • Analytical Skills: The ability to break down complex problems into smaller components is key.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, get results, and drive change through others.
  • Ability to manage by influence through solid relationships and process focus.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
