About the role.

The Ultra High Net Worth Underwriting Specialist - Western States is a key member of the Western Zone underwriting team. The primary goal of this position is to successfully manage the growth and profitability of the Western States Ultra-High Net Worth book of business. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining strong broker relationships, being accountable for the quality of underwriting decisions and execution, sharing underwriting knowledge with the front-line underwriting staff, and identifying capabilities needed to best serve large accounts.

What you'll do.

Business Management

Work closely with the Regional Executive and National Ultra High Net Worth Underwriting Manager on the goals for the Ultra-High Net Worth book of business including tracking and reporting. The Ultra-High Net Worth Underwriter will help provide insight into market conditions, opportunities, and competitive landscape within Florida.

Underwriting Execution

Responsible for the Ultra-High Net Worth underwriting execution, including selecting risks in line with PURE's strategy and underwriting guidelines, operating within authority and documentation guidelines, following up on large accounts, assisting underwriters with new business, and managing the in-force book. In conjunction with the RUM, the Ultra High Net Worth Underwriting Specialist will also develop the acumen and build out the capabilities of the underwriting team.

Field Sales Partnership

Collaborate with the Sales & Underwriting teams on large account opportunities, develop terms and engage Brokers & Members. Develop, maintain, and manage broker partnerships within the Regions including the development of strategies, goals, and tracking of progress; and positioning PURE within an agency for the largest accounts.

Exceptional Service, Empathy & Trusted Advisor: Partner with brokers to craft the best and creative solutions for their largest clients; share knowledge and best practices

What we're looking for.
  • 5+ years of HNW underwriting experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Proven track record of strong broker partnership including extensive field presence.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership, integrity, creativity in problem-solving, and establish trust and credibility.
  • Periodic field travel to brokers in the assigned territories as possible


The base salary for this role can range from $100k - $120k, based on a full-time work schedule. An individual's ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience.
